Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, there were 97,475 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Iowa and they represented 3.15% of the total population of Iowa in 2013. Polk County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (28,622), followed by Scott County (12,044), and Black Hawk County (11,559). On the other hand, Adams County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (10), followed by Taylor County (14), and Davis County (14).
