Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2014, there were 102,198 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Iowa and they represented 3.29% of the total population of Iowa in 2014. Polk County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (29,789), followed by Scott County (12,341), and Black Hawk County (11,863). On the other hand, Adams County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (10), followed by Taylor County (13), and Osceola County (17).
