Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2017, there were 361,567 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Kentucky and they represented 8.12% of the total population of Kentucky in 2017. Jefferson County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (166,483), followed by Fayette County (47,773), and Christian County (15,234). On the other hand, Robertson County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (9), followed by Wolfe County (20), and Owsley County (24).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Fulton County had the highest percentage (23.87%), followed by Jefferson County (21.61%), and Christian County (21.37%).
