Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2022, there were 377,849 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Kentucky and they represented 8.38% of the total population of Kentucky in 2022. Jefferson County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (173,907), followed by Fayette County (49,746), and Christian County (15,286). On the other hand, Robertson County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (24), followed by Wolfe County (30), and Owsley County (36).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Fulton County had the highest percentage (23.81%), followed by Jefferson County (22.5%), and Christian County (21.15%).
