Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, there were 1,704,691 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Maryland and they represented 29.19% of the total population of Maryland in 2011. Prince George's County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (556,603), followed by Baltimore city (392,830), and Baltimore County (212,933). On the other hand, Garrett County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (295), followed by Kent County (2,987), and Queen Anne's County (3,201).
