Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2019, there were 506,061 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Massachusetts and they represented 7.34% of the total population of Massachusetts in 2019. Suffolk County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (161,399), followed by Middlesex County (84,653), and Plymouth County (57,800).
