Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, there were 714,147 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Missouri and they represented 11.60% of the total population of Missouri in 2020. St. Louis County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (249,000), followed by Jackson County (164,026), and St. Louis city (132,487). On the other hand, Scotland County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (5), followed by Schuyler County (10), and Putnam County (12).
