Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 707,542 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Missouri and they represented 11.42% of the total population of Missouri in 2023. St. Louis County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (247,078), followed by Jackson County (160,748), and St. Louis city (120,461). On the other hand, Scotland County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (8), followed by Putnam County (11), and Schuyler County (13).
