Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, there were 1,144,814 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in New Jersey and they represented 12.92% of the total population of New Jersey in 2013. Essex County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (309,696), followed by Union County (115,737), and Camden County (94,523).
