Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2018, there were 2,819,511 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in New York and they represented 14.43% of the total population of New York in 2018. Kings County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (765,828), followed by Bronx County (419,660), and Queens County (406,547). On the other hand, Hamilton County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (43), followed by Schuyler County (163), and Lewis County (163).
