Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 2,882,389 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in New York and they represented 14.52% of the total population of New York in 2021. Kings County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (772,636), followed by Bronx County (430,322), and Queens County (417,980). On the other hand, Hamilton County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (64), followed by Lewis County (175), and Schuyler County (181).
