Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2010, there were 1,534,082 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Virginia and they represented 19.12% of the total population of Virginia in 2010. Norfolk city had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (102,845), followed by Richmond city (102,755), and Fairfax County (97,510).
