Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, there were 1,595,326 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Virginia and they represented 19.07% of the total population of Virginia in 2015. Richmond city had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (109,091), followed by Fairfax County (108,234), and Norfolk city (101,893). On the other hand, Craig County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (12), followed by Highland County (13), and Dickenson County (69).
