Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2019, there were 1,635,759 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Virginia and they represented 19.12% of the total population of Virginia in 2019. Fairfax County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (115,137), followed by Richmond city (106,363), and Henrico County (99,886). On the other hand, Craig County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (19), followed by Highland County (23), and Dickenson County (69).
