Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, there were 1,653,463 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Virginia and they represented 19.15% of the total population of Virginia in 2020. Fairfax County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (115,027), followed by Richmond city (102,376), and Henrico County (100,314). On the other hand, Craig County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (21), followed by Highland County (22), and Dickenson County (72).
