Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, there were 62,976 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in West Virginia and they represented 3.39% of the total population of West Virginia in 2011. Kanawha County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (14,060), followed by Berkeley County (7,356), and Raleigh County (6,444). On the other hand, Clay County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (8), followed by Wirt County (14), and Webster County (14).
