United States Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone Population By State in 2013

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, there were 39,127,242 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in the United States and they represented 12.38% of the total US population in 2013.

Texas had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (3,089,594), followed by Georgia (3,058,695), and Florida (3,048,135). On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (4,928) followed by Vermont (6,770), and Wyoming (7,613).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, District of Columbia had the highest percentage (47.99%), followed by Mississippi (37.16%), and Louisiana (32.10%).
