United States Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone Population By State in 2014

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2014, there were 39,501,310 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in the United States and they represented 12.41% of the total US population in 2014.

Texas had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (3,162,314), followed by Georgia (3,106,229), and Florida (3,101,017). On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (4,972) followed by Wyoming (6,871), and Vermont (6,891).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, District of Columbia had the highest percentage (47.48%), followed by Mississippi (37.24%), and Louisiana (32.12%).
