United States Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone Population By State in 2015

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, there were 39,877,721 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in the United States and they represented 12.43% of the total US population in 2015.

Texas had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (3,240,502), followed by Georgia (3,158,075), and Florida (3,155,744). On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (5,087) followed by Wyoming (6,406), and Vermont (7,230).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, District of Columbia had the highest percentage (46.82%), followed by Mississippi (37.31%), and Louisiana (32.13%).
