Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2018, there were 717,286 people that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone in South Dakota and they represented 81.57% of the total population of South Dakota in 2018. Minnehaha County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic White alone population (156,586), followed by Pennington County (89,638), and Lincoln County (54,603). On the other hand, Buffalo County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic White alone (308), followed by Oglala Lakota County (639), and Ziebach County (666).
