Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 727,299 people that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone in South Dakota and they represented 81.15% of the total population of South Dakota in 2021. Minnehaha County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic White alone population (160,174), followed by Pennington County (89,164), and Lincoln County (61,960). On the other hand, Buffalo County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic White alone (309), followed by Ziebach County (654), and Mellette County (719).
