Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, there were 9,967,548 people in Texas who identified as Hispanic or Latino. Among this group, 94.59% (9,427,863) identified their race as White, 1.88% (187,176) identified their race as Black or African American, and 1.78% (177,052) identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native.
