According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2016, the net domestic migration for Mississippi was -7,555. Rankin County had the highest net domestic migration (1,881) followed by DeSoto County (1,641), and Madison County (1,005). On the other hand, Hinds County had the lowest net domestic migration (-3,212), followed by Lauderdale County (-1,134), and Washington County (-884).
