According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2021, the net domestic migration for New York was -300,058. Suffolk County had the highest net domestic migration (8,620) followed by Tompkins County (6,582), and Dutchess County (3,142). On the other hand, New York County had the lowest net domestic migration (-101,229), followed by Kings County (-96,621), and Queens County (-70,976).

Net Domestic Migration for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico).
