According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the net domestic migration for Tennessee was 16,969. Williamson County had the highest net domestic migration (3,007) followed by Rutherford County (2,859), and Hamilton County (2,415). On the other hand, Shelby County had the lowest net domestic migration (-2,956), followed by Madison County (-555), and Hardeman County (-305).
