According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2016, the net domestic migration for Vermont was -2,216. Grand Isle County had the highest net domestic migration (58) followed by Essex County (53), and Lamoille County (43). On the other hand, Chittenden County had the lowest net domestic migration (-694), followed by Caledonia County (-438), and Washington County (-286).

Net Domestic Migration for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico).
