According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2015, the net domestic migration rate for South Dakota was -1.44. Lake County had the highest net domestic migration rate (18.73) followed by Lincoln County (15.62), and Marshall County (10.67). On the other hand, Jones County had the lowest net domestic migration rate (-43.78), followed by Mellette County (-31.75), and Miner County (-31.19).
