According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2017, the net international migration for New Jersey was 45,043. Hudson County had the highest net international migration (9,783) followed by Middlesex County (6,668), and Essex County (6,133). On the other hand, Sussex County had the lowest net international migration (45), followed by Salem County (81), and Cape May County (108).

Net International migration for a given county refers to the difference between the number of people moving to the county from other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States (50 states and District of Columbia) and the number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States.
