According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2024, the net international migration for North Carolina was 69,792. Mecklenburg County had the highest net international migration (19,699) followed by Wake County (12,704), and Durham County (5,781). On the other hand, Polk County had the lowest net international migration (-8), followed by Perquimans County (-8), and Cherokee County (-8).

Net International migration for a given county refers to the difference between the number of people moving to the county from other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States (50 states and District of Columbia) and the number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States.
