United States Net International Migration Rate By State in 2022
According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2022, the net international migration rate per 1,000 population for the United States was 3. District of Columbia had the highest net international migration rate per 1,000 population (6.76), followed by Massachusetts (6.14), and Florida (5.5). On the other hand, Mississippi had the lowest net domestic migration rate per 1,000 population (0.53), followed by Wyoming (0.63), and Alabama (0.86).

Net International migration rate for a given state refers to the difference between number of people moving to the state from other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States (50 states and District of Columbia) and the number of people moving out of the state to other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States per 1,000 of the mid-year population of the state.
