Louisiana Net Migration By County in 2024

According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2024, the net migration for Louisiana was 5,737. Lafayette Parish had the highest net migration (2,536) followed by Calcasieu Parish (2,031), and Livingston Parish (1,874). On the other hand, Orleans Parish had the lowest net migration (-2,678), followed by Caddo Parish (-1,165), and Vernon Parish (-765).

Net migration for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county. Or to put it simply, the net migration for a given county is the inbound migration minus the outbound migration for that county.
