According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2022, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for California was -5.28. Yolo County had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (36.04), followed by Merced County (13.32), and Placer County (12.67). On the other hand, Lassen County had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-67.39), followed by Alpine County (-28.94), and Mono County (-27.1).
