According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2015, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for Louisiana was 0.15. St. Bernard Parish had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (15) followed by St. Tammany Parish (11.87), and Cameron Parish (11.22). On the other hand, Vernon Parish had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-38.47), followed by East Carroll Parish (-26.9), and Madison Parish (-25.66).

Net migration rate for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county per 1,000 of the county's mid-year population.
