According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for Michigan was -1.9. Grand Traverse County had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (14.54) followed by Mecosta County (12.86), and Manistee County (12.2). On the other hand, Branch County had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-30.98), followed by Muskegon County (-13.92), and Ontonagon County (-12.38).
