According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for South Dakota was 6.67. Sully County had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (30.68), followed by Spink County (25.27), and Hyde County (22.63). On the other hand, Day County had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-22.39), followed by Tripp County (-20.62), and Walworth County (-18.35).
