According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2018, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for Virginia was 0.93. Radford city had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (31.4), followed by Manassas Park city (31.27), and New Kent County (27.11). On the other hand, Emporia city had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-21.5), followed by Alexandria city (-15.15), and Manassas city (-14.7).
