Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2022, among all Illinois counties, Alexander County had the highest percentage of its population who identified their ethnicity as Non-Hispanic Black or African American (30.88%), followed by St. Clair County (30.32%), and Pulaski County (29.68%).
