The number of alcohol impaired driving fatalities by state ranged from a high of 1,468 (Texas) to a low of 16 (District of Columbia).
A driver is considered to be alcohol impaired when his blood alcohol concentrations (BACs) is .08 grams per deciliter (g/dL) or higher.
