Drunk Drivers Involved In Fatal Crashes By Vehicle Type for the US (2017)

In 2017, there were more drunk drivers driving Passenger cars (4,297) involved in fatal crashes compared to other vehicle types. Vans and Large Trucks (284) were less driven by fatal drunk drivers (116). Interestingly, drunk drivers of Motorcycles constituted 27% of all fatal crashes involving motorcycles.
A driver is considered to be alcohol impaired when his blood alcohol concentrations (BACs) is .08 grams per deciliter (g/dL) or higher.
