According to recent data from the World Bank, the total unemployment rate of Sierra Leone was 5.33% in 2021, a difference of +0.13 points from 2020; and the total labor force of Sierra Leone in 2021 was 2,735,537. The most recent figures on male and female unemployment rates were 6.02% and 4.65% respectively in 2021.

The World Bank defines unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment".
