Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in Kentucky with household income of less than $40k was 36.99%. Among all Kentucky cities and places with a population of at least 10K, Somerset city had the highest percentage of households with household income of less than $40k (57.46%), followed by Murray city (53.15%), and Mayfield city (52.91%).

On the other hand, the following 3 cities and places had low percentages of households with household income of less than $40k: Francisville CDP (5.80%), Jeffersontown city (17.27%), and Independence city (17.49%).
