Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in Montana with household income of less than $40k was 32.96%. Among all Montana cities and places with a population of at least 10K, Butte-Silver Bow (balance) had the highest percentage of households with household income of less than $40k (39.92%), followed by Kalispell city (39.37%), and Great Falls city (37.90%).
