Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in Pennsylvania with household income of less than $40k was 29.92%. Among all Pennsylvania cities and places with a population of at least 10K, Johnstown city had the highest percentage of households with household income of less than $40k (65.20%), followed by McKeesport city (59.08%), and Indiana borough (55.18%).

On the other hand, the following 3 cities and places had low percentages of households with household income of less than $40k: Franklin Park borough (8.04%), Montgomeryville CDP (13.78%), and Murrysville municipality (15.02%).
