Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in Rhode Island with household income of less than $40k was 28.07%. Among all Rhode Island cities and places with a population of at least 10K, Central Falls city had the highest percentage of households with household income of less than $40k (49.76%), followed by Woonsocket city (39.97%), and Providence city (39.50%).

On the other hand, the following 3 cities and places had low percentages of households with household income of less than $40k: Westerly CDP (22.47%), Valley Falls CDP (24.00%), and Wakefield-Peace Dale CDP (24.89%).
