Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of White Alone households in Illinois with household income of less than $40k was 24.69%. Among all Illinois counties, Alexander County had the highest percentage of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k (45.89%), followed by McDonough County (44.44%), and Jackson County (44.39%).

On the other hand, the following 3 counties had low percentages of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k: Kendall County (11.17%), DuPage County (15.79%), and Will County (15.98%).
