Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of White Alone households in North Carolina with household income of less than $40k was 29.08%. Among all North Carolina counties, Alleghany County had the highest percentage of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k (51.70%), followed by Graham County (47.43%), and Columbus County (45.95%).

On the other hand, the following 3 counties had low percentages of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k: Wake County (16.60%), Union County (17.42%), and Mecklenburg County (18.09%).
