Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of White Alone households in South Carolina with household income of less than $40k was 28.42%. Among all South Carolina counties, Marlboro County had the highest percentage of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k (52.53%), followed by Allendale County (51.46%), and Marion County (48.10%).

On the other hand, the following 3 counties had low percentages of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k: Beaufort County (19.61%), Berkeley County (20.49%), and Charleston County (20.95%).
