Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in Colorado with household income of less than $40k was 23.13%. Among all Colorado counties, Costilla County had the highest percentage of households with household income of less than $40k (53.60%), followed by Crowley County (51.72%), and Conejos County (51.44%).

On the other hand, the following 3 counties had low percentages of households with household income of less than $40k: Douglas County (10.09%), Pitkin County (12.41%), and Broomfield County (12.44%).
