Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in New Hampshire with household income of less than $40k was 22.54%. Among all New Hampshire counties, Coos County had the highest percentage of households with household income of less than $40k (36.57%), followed by Sullivan County (31.40%), and Carroll County (28.57%).

On the other hand, the following 3 counties had low percentages of households with household income of less than $40k: Rockingham County (16.09%), Hillsborough County (21.27%), and Merrimack County (23.18%).
