Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in New Mexico with household income of less than $40k was 38.17%. Among all New Mexico counties, Guadalupe County had the highest percentage of households with household income of less than $40k (58.81%), followed by Harding County (58.42%), and De Baca County (56.21%).
On the other hand, the following 3 counties had low percentages of households with household income of less than $40k: Los Alamos County (11.92%), Sandoval County (24.59%), and Santa Fe County (31.17%).
